Episode 59: Summer Songs, Part 2 (Repost)

Had to repost because the link to the episode was broken.

At just over 25 minutes, this is one of the shortest episodes I’ve ever done. I didn’t feel the need to come up with three paragraphs worth of material about every song, but instead decided to let it flow a little more naturally. I think it works pretty good.

What are you favorite summer songs? Leave them in the Comments.

One album I fell in love with was NRBQ’s At Yankee Stadium album. I heard it for the first time in the Summer of 1982 and to this day I still love cranking Ridin’ In My Car. Just simple lyrics.

“Remember last summer when we had the chance
to find each other start making romance

But it didn’t come off so you found another
Without one hand of a clock what good is the other…”

Tremendous. Now I’m thinking back to WABC-AM, as a kid, listening to Mungo Jerry and adding my own sound effects. ELO had a summer song I’d hum to, as well. Thanks for not putting on “Never Dreamed You’d Leave in Summer”. Still hurts!
