Episode 35: Bob Mould

Not too long after Bob Mould moved to DC, a friend and fellow music geek told me that he’s gotten to know him a bit. Then he said, “I can introduce you if you like.” I politely declined, thinking I would be too intimidated and I would either act like a blathering idiot or be the millionth person to ask about a Hüsker Dü reunion. I know I didn’t do the latter, and it’s up to you to decide if I did the former. As you can also tell, there was no need for me to be nervous. Bob couldn’t possibly have been cooler.

Here I am, actually standing on the edge of the Hoover Dam from our first trip to Vegas in 2004. Unlike the character in the song, however, I’m not contemplating taking the journey downward.

And yeah, I realize now I said “1966″ instead of “1996″ when asking about the theme to The Daily Show.
