NYC History Podcast
The other day, I discovered The Bowery Boys Podcast through the iTunes Music Store. I’ve gone through the first six episodes and I’m really enjoying it. Each week, they take a different aspect of New York City history (The ‘77 blackout, Washington Square Park, The Chrysler Building, The Apollo Theater) and talk about it in an entertaining and informative manner. The blog is also updated several times a day with more facts about the city.
The sound quality could be better (guys, if you read this, make it bigger than 32 kbps), but the content is excellent. I hope they keep this up because there’s so much that they can talk about. For ex-New Yorkers like myself, it’s a great way to re-connect with the city. Maybe I can just listen to this instead of reading 1,000+ pages of The Power Broker like I keep meaning to.
