Episode 30: Elvis!

This is our Elvis shrine I mentioned at the end of the show. Granted, it doesn’t compare with this collection at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Vegas that Kim is standing in front of, but we don’t have the space for it.

One day, Kim. One day…

I also found on YouTube the video of Elvis singing Unchained Melody at his last-ever concert, less than two before his death.

  1. Danielle says:

Hey, I’ve got that heart-shaped box! (‘Forever in debt to your priceless advice…’)

  2. dslifton says:

Which one? There are actually two heart-shaped boxes in there. The red one (Russell Stover chocolates) and the one with Wertheimer’s The Kiss photo, which we briefly talked about recreating for our holiday card, but didn’t want to gross out everybody we know.

  3. nocellphone says:

I’m nauseated just thinking about it. Thank God there’s no visual.

  4. dslifton says:

We’ll recreate it for you next time you come up here.

  5. nocellphone says:

OK. How’s never? Does never work for you?

  6. dslifton says:

    Stop quoting your wife.

  7. If you ever get to Pigeon Forge, TN, the Elvis museum is a mandatory stop. Where else can you see Elvis’ used underwear or “TCB” gun?

  8. dslifton says:

You know, if I was into amusement parks, I would definitely go to Pigeon Forge because I simply adore Dolly Parton! Have you ever seen Graham Norton’s special about Dollywood? It was all over BBC America a few years ago.

  9. Dollywood is AMAZING. Even if you don’t do rides or anything, I highly recommend it. A friend and I went during their Christmas season, and mostly saw shows and parades. However, Dolly’s museum inside the park is stunning. There’s so much great memorabilia and cool stuff to see. We could have easily spent longer than the 2 hours we were in there. Dolly’s awesome!
