Wings For Wheels

I went to respond to Mike’s comment on yesterday’s TML post, only to find that the post is nowhere to be found.  It has been deleted, with seemingly no record of it having ever been written.  A search through the WordPress support forums didn’t provide an answer, but maybe this is a bug of version 2.1.  They released 2.2 today, so I’ll be upgrading to that pretty soon in the hopes that it doesn’t happen again.  Thankfully, I have been able to recreate the post through the cache at Google Blog Search.

We had great accommodations at the MGM Grand, and spent the mornings hanging out at the awesome Backlot River at their pool.

Keeping up our usual custom, we saw Chris Isaak at the beautiful Lake Las Vegas Resort in nearby Henderson. A fantastic show from Chris and the boys, as always.

Saturday afternoon, we went to the stunningly beautiful new Red Rock Casino in Summerlin.

Saturday night, we saw Blue Man Group at The Venetian, which was very inventive and a lot of fun, followed by a light meal at Peppermill’s, one of our favorite joints. We did see that Mario Batali, my parents’ favorite celebrity chef, has a branch of his NYC restaurant B&B at the Venetian.

Sunday, we spent most of the day walking up and down The Strip. We went into some of the crapholes on the North Strip. We hadn’t been in the New Frontier or the Riviera since our first trip three years ago, and, for the first time ever, went into the horror show known as Circus Circus.

Finally, we had dinner Sunday night at Pink Taco at the Hard Rock Casino. Great food, but unfortunately, we were there just as the hotel’s pool party was winding down, so the place was overrun with even more drunken idiots than usual.
