Tuesday Morning Links – Crowded House
Either Wednesday or Thursday, I’m going to put out the next episode of Wings For Wheels. It will be an Album Spotlight, which I haven’t done in a while, dedicated to Crowded House’s 1991 CD, “Woodface.” The news that Crowded House are re-uniting for a new album and tour this summer put me in the mood to talk about this album, which has been on my list of upcoming episodes for a while, but I kept putting off. So, not only is the next WFW dedicated to Crowded House, today’s TML is dedicated, too (hey, I live in the Capital of Obfuscation and Acronym, after all).
Crowded House’s official website.
Catch The Deluge features the emotional performance of Don’t Dream It’s Over from their Farewell To The World DVD.
Something So Finn, which, sadly, hasn’t been updated to include the reunion news, nonetheless has an impressive collection of guitar tablatures of Split Enz, CH, and Neil and Tim solo work.
Gardner Writes podcasts a three-part interview he did with Neil Finn back in 1986 (Part One, Part Two, Part Three).
Comedienne Margaret Cho writes about her Finn Fandom going back to the Split Enz days, and says goodbye to Paul Hester.
Finally, The Age eulogizes Hester.

Remind me to check back here to read everything and to see any tour dates information. I really hope they come through DC and play at The 9:30 Club.
I love Crowded House and am really happy about the tour. I only wish Paul Hester was still alive to be a part of it. I do have to say I’m glad Tim Finn isn’t in the group. Not only does he bring little to the table, but he usually takes something off as illustrated in this performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rn7NCBlUVI.
Hey, he nailed Greta Scacchi with moves like that.
Ask Tim how well nailing Greta Scacchi worked out for him in the long run, dude!
You mean that she’s so hot that his hair turned all white?
I’m talking about the songwriting drought of the mid to late ’80s… IIRC things didn’t improve until they broke up. Thank you, Greta!
