Living Proof

Some of you may remember that, back in September, I wrote about the fucktastingly amazing experience of being in the front of the pit at Bruce Springsteen’s show in Sunrise, Florida. Well, last night, after goofing around on Twitter with some fellow Springsteen lovers about the idea of achieving YouTube fame by being in a video with him, I went looking for more some videos of that night (this was after I had sent them this link). Apparently, the guy who was right up against the stage to my left had a camera on him, because this was what I found.

Did you catch when he turned the camera around at 0:46? Through the miracle of screen-capture technology, we now have a permanent document of what I look like in full “WHOA-OH!” mode during Born To Run.

WHOA-OH!

And before any of you wiseasses say anything, I have already made every possible joke about my mouth being wide open while being that close to Springsteen.

Something else happened during Born To Run that I didn’t write about. Again, we go to the screen capture.

Me Touching Bruce's Telecaster

That’s my hand, front and center, fretting a C# on Bruce’s Telecaster.

Greatest. Fucking. Night. Ever.

“fretting a C# on Bruce’s Telecaster” – that’s what you call it, huh Dave? And with mouth wide open, no less… hehe . Very cool Dave… ain’t nothin’ like the front of the pit experience.

OK, Pete. And now think of the position of Bruce’s guitar and how easily I could have reached for it if I really wanted to.

Hurray for all the money I spent on braces.

  7. Dave Lifton says:

…which is probably less money than I’ve spent on Springsteen…

  8. Damn Dave, it’s your world, we just live in it.
