Not Much Going On
It’s been a slow couple of weeks here, one of those periods where I haven’t had much to say and, when when I have, I’ve been too lazy to write it up. But Episode 3 of the Popdose Podcast is online and I think it’s our best yet. And despite my apology for what I said in the previous show, we’re filthier than ever, learning more about Jason’s love of Yankee Candles and football than we ever wanted to know. Coincidence? I leave that for you to decide. Hopefully you’ll leave a review of it at iTunes.
I also contributed to their Best Movies and Albums of the Decade list.
To make up for my lack of posting, here are Graham Parker and The Smithereens singing Behind The Wall Of Sleep on a very early episode of MTV Unplugged.
And, as a bonus, here’s the video for Going Underground by The Jam.

I’m a huge fan of The Jam, and Going Underground is one of their best. Weller’s writing was so cutting. I’m sorry to say that I’m underwhelmed by Weller’s solo output, but his work with The Jam is a hard act to follow.
I love Weller’s first three solo records, especially Wild Wood. But after Stanley Road he’s been reduced to an endless recitation of post-hippie parables with a few gems mixed in. Naturally, I blame Noel Gallagher.
