Wings For Wheels

I’m thrilled to see that The Light In Darkness, the new book from my friend Lawrence Kirsch that is advertised on the sidebar, will be released on October 8 and is available for pre-order. As with his first book, For You, it compiles stories about Springsteen from his fans and is packed with incredible photographs. But the new volume focuses exclusively on the Darkness On The Edge Of Town album and tour, which took Bruce out of clubs and theatres and into arenas.

Although I didn’t see Springsteen on this tour (I was only nine and I don’t even think I knew who he was at the time), I contributed an analysis about why the Darkness tour has such a special place in the hearts of those of us who collect Springsteen bootlegs. I’m also very interested in seeing what my buddy Pete over at Blogness has to say about it.
