Ralph Vacchiano of The Daily News is tweeting that David Tyree has been cut from the New York Giants. It makes sense for the Giants, who are looking to rebuild their receiving corps, to give the last wide receiver slot to younger players after Tyree, 29, spent all of last year injured and, by all accounts, had a horrible pre-season.
So I just wanted to thank Tyree, not only for the greatest catch in Super Bowl history (and my favorite non-Bruce moment of 2008), but also for the incredible special teams plays he made throughout his time with Big Blue.
Just pray that he doesn’t come back to do Giants TV games like the similarly famous Dave Roberts did for the Red Sox this year. Man is that guy dull.
