These Songs Crack Me Up

I’m in a pretty good mood today, so here are a few songs that I hope will put a smile on your face, too. The first is one of my favorite moments from the last season of Flight Of The Conchords that didn’t involve Art Garfunkel or Australians, their Roxanne tribute when Jemaine decided to become a male prostitute (Fred Garvin!). I’m not sure if I prefer Jemaine’s buckskin vest and tight pink shorts to the Garfunkel wig, but his attempts on the pole and Eugene Mirman’s steel drum solo are inspired.

Next is Countrier Than Thou by Robbie Fulks. He explains what that means before launching into the song. The last verse has a killer punchline.

I usually don’t post a lot of viral videos. The “Hitler Reacts To The Giants Beating The Cowboys” post was a special occasion. And Total Eclipse Of The Heart and Making Love Out Of Nothing At All are proof that there is, as I’ve said before, a special layer of Hell that plays nothing but Jim Steinman songs. But these “Literal Videos” that have been popping up are incredible, and perfect for deflating that pompous twit.
